Frequently asked questions

What is a CELEX number?

CELEX is the unique identifier the EU assigns to every legal document. It encodes the document type and year, so it is the reliable key for linking and deduplicating acts.

Can I get only regulations, or only directives?

Yes. Use the document types filter to include just the kinds of act you want. You can combine several in one run.

How do I search by subject?

Use a keyword that appears in the act title, or filter the results by the EuroVoc **descriptors** field, which lists the subject matter of each act.

How fresh is the data?

Acts are read at run time, so each record reflects the current published information (see observedAt).
