Does this scraper work without a Product Hunt API key or login?
Yes. It reads the public Product Hunt website, so no account, developer token or OAuth is needed. You only provide a mode and, optionally, a date, topic or product list.
How many products can I get from one leaderboard?
A daily, weekly or monthly leaderboard page returns its top launches, usually around 17 to 24 of the highest ranked products for that period. Use the daily, weekly or monthly mode and an optional date to target a specific board.
Can I scrape products for a specific topic like artificial intelligence?
Yes. Set mode to Topic products and provide a topic slug such as artificial-intelligence, productivity, developer-tools or saas. You get the products listed under that topic with followers, ratings and tagline.
How do I get details like the makers, description and website link?
Keep Fetch product details on (the default), or use Specific products mode with product URLs or slugs. Each product page is then opened to add the description, makers, external website, screenshots, rating and pricing.
What does the upvotes number represent?
It is the live upvote count Product Hunt shows for that launch. On leaderboards it reflects the score at the time of scraping, so running the daily board again later returns updated counts.
